Caltrain Modernization Program Gets A New Leader
The new chief officer comes to the table with extensive experience managing large construction projects, Caltrain officials say.

Caltrain officials have hired a new chief officer for the Caltrain Modernization Program, the officials announced Friday. Officials hired John Funghi, a registered professional engineer in California, with extensive experience managing large construction projects in the public sector and as a construction contractor.
For the past 18 years, Funghi has worked at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency where for the past 11 years he has been the central subway program director. In that position, Funghi was responsible for the delivery of the $1.6 billion Central Subway project in downtown San Francisco.
Funghi will start his new position on Feb. 1.
