Drivers BEWARE East San Carlos Avenue

East San Carlos Avenue is the road local Commuter Shuttles are required to use but there isn't enough clearance to pass oncoming traffic.

The City of San Carlos requires Commuter Shuttles to use East San Carlos Avenue to get from Old County Road to Industrial Road but fail to provide the room for them to travel. There is a large group of shrubs that encroach into the roadway at least 4'. The larger the vehicle the more the encroachment due to the crown in the road forcing the top of the vehicle to angle towards the roadside and into the brush. You can see the larger branches have been scraped free of vegetation from the large vehicles forced to hit them. There is barely enough room for 2 shuttles to pass each other without shrubs, vehicles parked, or garbage bins in the Roadway. The City of San Carlos has proven that Public Safety is an afterthought and only to be seriously considered after multiple complaints have been filed and then less likely to act on them in a timely manner.

The City finally got the shrubs cut back a small amount however not enough to stop scraping vehicles as of the beginning of February.

1. The 2 Curb islands that are located on the North end of Cordilleras Avenue installed to force oncoming cars head-on into each other.

2. The roundabout installed at Walnut Street and Morse Boulevard forcing drivers to drive where the crosswalks should be while giving pedestrians no where to safely cross at the intersection.

3. The concrete curbs installed on Old County Road jutting out into traffic without markers to warn drivers as they installed on Industrial Road. Notice the huge chunks of concrete missing from the curbs after ruining the front ends of multiple vehicles that San Carlos is solely responsible for.

I guess we have to consider the quality of the people the City of San Carlos hires to deal with these Public Safety Issues and whether they have the ability or fortitude to properly perform their jobs? I wouldn't allow myself to be involved with City Departments that lack the responsibility to provide a safe environment for the public throughout the City of San Carlos.

Where's the City Manager or City Attorney and why aren't they concerned about Public Safety or at a minimum the City of San Carlos's LIABILITY?
