Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Stalking San Carlos Woman
Jonathan Derasacosta had been arrested twice in 2019 in San Diego on suspicion of stalking the same alleged victim, authorities said.

SAN CARLOS, CA – A 22-year-old man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stalking a San Carlos woman, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Jonathan Derasacosta had been arrested twice in 2019 in San Diego on suspicion of stalking the same alleged victim, a UC San Diego student who he established a friendship with in 2016 before she moved to Southern California, authorities said.
Derasacosta was released from jail in early 2020 amid the COVID-19 crisis, authorities said.

The alleged victim was at her San Carlos home in May taking classes online when Derasacosta visited her home and used what appeared to be red substance (possibly blood) and wrote the victim’s name against a wall, authorities said.
Derasacosta moved to San Diego unbeknownst to the alleged victim when was enrolled at UC San Diego, authorities said.

He was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stalking, committing a felony while on bail and disobeying a court order, authorities said.
