Mostly Unlicensed Contractors recommended on NEXTDOOR.COM
The proliferation of Unlicensed Contractors is being supported by the PRIVATE Social Networking Site NEXTDOOR.com
The Private Social Networking site for Private Neighborhood groups calling themselves NEXTDOOR.COM is being moderated by people that aren’t concerned with the validity of the information passed on between neighbors within the group.
Many people using this site are passing on references for services like home and business maintenance, landscaping, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, laborers, engineers, general contractors, to mention a few.
When you check the business and personal names of these people with the CSLB.com (Contractors State License Board) site you’ll find the majority of these people and businesses don’t hold the required licenses to perform the work they perform.

Getting or giving recommendations for the legal businesses is still a good idea just know who you are recommending prior to doing so.
You might reconsider belonging to a site that blocks members like myself that try to protect their neighbors and expose illegal contractors. 95% of the people I checked were unlicensed or using someone else's license illegally. An electrical engineer claimed he didn’t realize he needed a license? Is that the guy you want wiring your house!!!
