San Carlos Hosts Apple Hill Trip
The city has scheduled this ceremonial fall journey to the Placerville where SF Peninsula residents may sample all things apple.

SAN CARLOS, CA — The city is hosting a trip that's sure to bring out the spirit of Johnny Appleseed in each of us this fall.
The Adult Community Center on Chestnut Street is scheduling the trip on Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Apple Hill is a community of apple orchards in the Placerville area. The town at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range presents itself with an ideal setting for picking apples and frolicking in an autumn atmosphere. A long lineup of orchards are set against the rural landscape, which is also home to vineyards that produce hardy Barbera and Zinfandel wine. Above all, the region represents an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco Bay Area

As far as all things apple, the High Hill Ranch is one of the larger orchards opening the property to visitors, who may sample apple donuts, fritters, pie and cider.
The San Carlos will set up a barbecue chicken lunch with macaroni salad, dinner roll, beverage and a piece of apple pie a la mode. After lunch, there will be a guided loop tour through Apple Hill while learning about the extensive history of the area.
