San Carlos Man Faces Trial for Brutal Beating

Luis Angel Ocon is accused of beating up his girlfriend in tandem with his son in the presence of the victim's children.

With 12 jurors selected Tuesday, the trial of San Carlos resident Luis Angel Ocon, was set to begin Wednesday morning.

Ocon, 41, is charged with multiple assault and battery counts stemming from an Aug. 19, 2011 incident.

According to San Mateo County District Attorney's Office media notes, Ocon and his then girlfriend of four years began arguing that night about the behavior of Ocon's son.

Ocon became "enraged and called the victim names and pushed her around and punched her twice," DA's Office notes reveal.

Ocon's son then joined in on the beating. According to the DA's Office, the woman's children then came in the room, were scooped up by the victim and taken to another room where she called police.

Police noted that the victim had lacerations that required stitches and acute head injury.

Ocon has been out of jail on $25,000 bond.
