Toxic Waste Water Illegally discharged over San Carlos Sidewalks
San Carlos City Council & Lead Building official Chris Valley again ignores Public Safety Issues throughout the City of San Carlos.
Over the last few years I have brought many public safety issues to the attention of the City of San Carlos and the Lead Building Official CHRIS VALLEY that have gotten ignored.
In this case many residences and businesses have sump pumps on their properties that discharge the excess toxic waste water collecting in the sump off of their property and over the public sidewalks and streets. The San Carlos City Council, Public Works Department, and building official Chris Valley continue to ignore the issue.
The pictures I have show that a small dog or a baby stroller could be knocked over or at least drenched by the sudden intense spray of water. All people and animals walking downtown or elsewhere are subject to the sudden and unexpected release of toxic water on their legs and feet. One set of these discharge pipes sprays toxic water over the sidewalk and 10 feet into the street every minute or two.

During the height of the storms these illegal systems operate every few minutes, dozens of times per day. You can see the rust colored stains on the sidewalk where these illegal discharges occur. There are at least a dozen on our block alone.
The issue is that it is illegal to discharge waste water or any other substance on a public right of way.

The public needs to be safe while traversing the City Streets and sidewalks without the threat of large amounts of water being sprayed on them, rain or shine, and suddenly without notice.
There are simple solutions for this issue. These solutions would be easy to implement, relatively inexpensive to install, and completely safe to the public compared to cowardly ignoring the issue all together.
Some day the City of San Carlos will grow tired of Chris Valley being a major liability to the City and its residents and hire someone fully capable of protecting the residents of San Carlos, Ca particularly in the Transit Village neighborhood.
Public Safety shouldn’t be something that is regularly ignored by this Cities political cowards.
