The 21-year-old female was found on the floor unconscious and unresponsive.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded late Wednesday night to a call of a possible overdose at America’s Best Value Inn in San Carlos. They discovered the unconscious and unresponsive 21-year-old woman lying on the floor of a motel room.

Deputies also found numerous hypodermic needs and other miscellaneous types of drug paraphernalia in the room.

Paramedics were dispatched to assist with medical care and the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies contacted a male subject in the motel room with the unconscious female, later identified as Kevin Donnell, 35, of San Carlos. Donnell told Deputies the female had used heroin prior to her losing consciousness.

Donnell then directed Deputies to a closet where a substance believed to be heroin was located.  Deputies also located, what was believed to be methamphetamine inside a backpack belonging to Donnell.

Donnell was subsequently arrested for possessing a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Donnell was transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
