Looking for Help Managing your Child's Behavior? Our Experts Can Help!!!

The South Orange County Family Resource Center will be hosting the Child Behavior Pathways 9-week Parenting Series starting July 14th.

Child Behavior Pathways has been providing quality behavior support through parenting education services to thousands of Orange County families and early childhood educators since 2002. Child Behavior Pathways evidence based curriculum is designed to help parents find effective solutions to common behavior challenges while getting to know other families in the community. The COPE (Community Parent Education) curriculum uses active, small-group discussions among parents to help them identify their goals and desired approaches to parenting. Group leaders foster discussions that help participants develop, practice, and strengthen the skills that will allow them to achieve their goals as effective parents.

Our developmentally tailored curricula include:

  • COPEing with Toddler Behavior (CWTB) is a 9-week series for parents of children ages 0-3 who wish to learn about encouraging and nurturing a healthy and positive relationship with their infant/toddler. Parents will learn both preventative and positive parenting techniques to foster healthy attachment and strong emotional development. Classes are currently offered in English only. (parents/caregivers only)
  • Community Parent Education (COPE) is a 9-week series for parents of children ages 3-5, helping them effectively manage challenging behaviors and improve overall family functioning. By introducing various approaches to typical behaviors, parents set up their child’s success in school and adult lives. Classes are offered in English and Spanish. (parents/caregivers only)
  • Parent - Child Premium Serviceis an exciting new service that combines the benefits of the COPE parent education series with a social educational component for children ages 3-6. The weekly program provides parents with the opportunity to learn effective tools for improving challenging behaviors while their child attends a play-based social skills class. The fee for our Parent-Child Premium Service is $500 per family, which covers 2 adults and 1 child for the entire 9-week series.Scholarships are not currently available for this service.

We are happy to announce that we offering our Summer Parenting Series again. We are working in collaboration with Pretend City Children’s Museum to bring additional support over the summer break with our Summer Parenting Series. These are stand alone topics in which parents can attend one, two or all three presentations - whatever parents find relevant to their needs. The first of these, stand-alone topics, is “Prepping for Summer” on Monday, June 27th in English at Pretend City and June 29th in Spanish at Key Elementary in Anaheim.
