Bumpin Ballroom Halloween Party is back again, with the annual family-friendly event. A potluck party, come in costume for games, food & fun

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — For Bumpin Ballroom owners Kayla and Danny Parker, the more the merrier at their annual Halloween bash.

"My husband and I teach 'Dancing with the Stars' style ballroom dancing, which can often be so serious," Kayla said. "The annual Halloween party is a fun night for both students, teachers and anyone who just wants a safe place to go on Halloween."

The party, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 is for all ages.

"We do a little dancing, a potluck, a little bit of adult beverages," Kayla said. "My husband has put together games for both adults and kids to come and play.

Both Kayla and Danny Parker have danced since they were children with over 25 years of dancing experience. They met while teaching at a different studio before making the leap toward starting Bumpin Ballroom 4 1/2 years ago.

"Ballroom is expensive at most studios, and we wanted to make it so that families of all incomes could come dancing," she said. "We both feel that it is our job to teach the younger generation the lost art of ballroom dancing."

Parents of two young children, the Parkers encourage families to come out for their Halloween dance party.

"The Halloween Party is for anyone in San Juan Capistrano and surrounding areas, for families who dance with us and anyone who just wants to dress up and celebrate safely," she said. With international teachers, the American ritual of celebrating Halloween is truly different and fun for all.

My husband is a character, and keeps everyone laughing," she said. "America really celebrates Halloween more than anywhere else in the world. All of our foreign dance teachers embrace the holiday, to be silly and have fun and keep things light hearted. Competition is so often serious, and we like to remind people that dancing is supposed to be fun."

Come, and see Danny Parker dressed up as Donald Trump while Kayla is dressing up as a cat. "Last year he wore a Sumo blow up costume, complete with an air compressor, and the Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man," she laughed. "There is a costume contest, so be sure and dress up."

Kids and adults can enjoy old fashioned Halloween games for prizes. If you come, bring a food or candy item for people to share.
