Break-In At Mission San Juan Capistrano Overnight
Deputies responded to the scene of a break-in and reports of vandalism at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, Friday morning.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to the Mission San Juan Capistrano early Friday morning, Patch has learned.
Deputies arrived at the mission to review footage and survey the damage.
"At least 8 people" broke into the mission grounds overnight at approximately 3:30 a.m., "damaging all kinds of things," a mission volunteer said.

It appears that juveniles "kicked in some doors and did some damage," according to Sgt. Dennis Breckner of the OCSD.
Nothing appeared to be stolen, he said.

Deputies remained on the grounds Friday morning as of 9 a.m., investigating the scene.
