Concerning the article about the OC Board of Education Forum discussing Sex Ed on September 26, 2018, the article was a clever maneuver to detour the focus off the facts. The evidence brought to the board during the Forum should concern ALL California youth and parents, especially those in the LGBT community. Firstly, documentation from Medical Experts was provided to prove that HIV prevention instruction, in the top recommended state curriculum for middle school students, is medically inaccurate. Secondly, proof was given that parents have been betrayed by the California Department of Education, by promising FDA methods be taught for HIV Prevention. Lastly, evidence was presented that parents in California have been misrepresented by the ACLU of an 89% approval rating of Comprehensive Sex Education in context of the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA), when the study did not reflect the true contents of the CHYA state recommended curriculum such as: Gender Spectrum (that you can be BOTH genders, NIETHER gender, Gender FLUID, and that gender identities are unlimited), varied sexual orientations such as pansexuality, asexuality, and varied sex acts such as anal sex or oral sex on anus. If the true goal of the California Healthy Youth Act (AB 329) is to keep kids safe and to have a transparent partnership with parents, then why are these critical faults being overlooked? Ideological differences and tolerance are expected and celebrated in a pluralistic democratic society. However, when it comes to our kids' health and the trust of parents, second-rate standards and disingenuous stats should not be condoned or tolerated.
