Mission San Juan Capistrano, Homefront America Honor Local Heroes

In a first-ever partnership with Homefront America, Mission San Juan Capistrano will present flags for the community's vets on Memorial Day.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Mission San Juan Capistrano and Homefront America have partnered to host their 2021 Field of Honor during Memorial Day weekend.

The display of up to 400 7-foot American flags placed on the grounds of Mission San Juan Capistrano, and is sponsored by the community, a spokesperson says. It honors the area's military heroes and veterans.

From May 26 through Monday, May 31 all active duty, veterans, first responders and Mission Preservation Society members will receive free admission to the Mission.

How can you sponsor a flag?

The community is invited to sponsor individual flags to honor a specific military member, veteran, and/or first responder.

Past honorees have included famous K-9 and equestrian heroes for their selfless sacrifices.

Sponsorships start at $50 per flag and all proceeds benefiting Homefront America’s charitable programs for military families.

A $50 sponsor level also includes an individual membership to Mission San Juan Capistrano’s Preservation Society and sponsorship benefits increase with various levels up to $1,000. To sponsor a flag, please visit www.homefrontamerica.org

Field of Honor® will be on display during Mission San Juan Capistrano’s normal operating hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. from Wednesday, May 26 through Monday, May 31.
