SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — After one week of closure, fans of Peltzer Pines in Silverado Canyon can once again set out in search of their perfect Christmas Tree. Following a week of closure amid the fast-moving Bond Fire that began nearby, all roads have reopened, allowing residents to return.

It was just about as 2020 as one would expect when running a Christmas Tree farm amid a global pandemic. One week ago, fast-moving flames forced a closure of the Christmas Tree ranch mere days after it opened for business. Due to the firefight, residents were under evacuation orders, then evacuation warnings, and dealing with road closures in the area for nearly 7 days. Overnight, all that changed. When the smoke cleared, the Christmas Tree ranch, one of Orange County's favored holiday traditions owned by Orange County's favorite family, was spared damages from the fire, they reported.

Roads are open!! Normally, on weekdays we open at 11:30am will open early tomorrow. Please feel free to coke anytime...

The popular tree farm was just one of area businesses that was spared from the fast-moving Bond Fire due to hard work and effort of fire crews in the air and on the ground. After over a week of closure, they reopened Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

The wind-whipped Bond fire began just before 10:15 p.m. last Wednesday in the 29400 block of Silverado Canyon Drive sending residents fleeing with animals, large and small. Seven days later, nearly 7,000 acres burned. Thankfully, the tree farm was spared, they say.

Peltzer Pines reopened Wednesday, following being shuttered due to the blaze. Those who had pre-purchased their trees were able to have them cut and hauled to the Brea location for pickup, but many residents chose to wait until the tree farm reopened.

"We reopen at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday and return to our regular scheduled hours on Thursday," a spokesperson for Peltzer Pines told Patch.

Feel free to come by anytime after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, they told Patch. The farm reopens 11:30 a.m., daily, after that.

There is no photography allowed at the farm due to the coronavirus, 2020 season.
