San Juan Capistrano Approves Parking Expansion In Time For Summer
A city resolution indicates the parking lot expansion at Ramos Street and Paseo Adelanto will be completed and ready for use by summer.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — The City of San Juan Capistrano this week voted in favor of a parking expansion that could add another 50 parking spaces to the downtown business area.
The expansion comes on the heels of several developments completed in the downtown area in 2020, including the beautification of Verdugo Street and improvements to the Capistrano Plaza building.
"These improvements and revitalization efforts are expected to attract more residents and visitors to the downtown and Los Rios areas, which bodes well for the local economy but also creates additional parking demand," the resolution reads, in part.

The city plans to expand parking in the area of Ramos Street and Paseo Adelanto where, last summer, approximately 90 parking spaces were added.
According to the resolution, the expansion will take place at the southwest corner of the Ramos Street Parking lot between the oak tree grove and Los Rios Park. Additions will include handicap parking spaces, a pedestrian connection to Los Rios Park, security lighting and a landscape buffer to differentiate the parking lot from adjoining properties.
