ORANGE COUNTY, CA — It's Election Day and Orange County's registered voters have voted.

Out of 1.7 million issued ballots, approximately 1 million ballots have been cast in Orange County according to the Registrar. This is up from just over 690,000 Orange County ballots returned as of this time in the 2016 election. All ballots, including vote-by-mail ballots, must be received at the Registrar of voters office or any voter assistance center within Orange County no later than the close of polls on Election Day or be postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than 17 days after Election Day to be counted.

As of 11 a.m., Tuesday, over 27,500 voters have cast their ballots at a Vote Center in Orange County, OC Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley says. Since in-person voting started on Oct. 30, there have been 204,208 voters who have visited a Vote Center in Orange County, according to Kelley.

Ballots turned in before Monday will be the first results released after the polls close Election Night.

Here's the tentative schedule for ballot results on Election Night and beyond in Orange County:

—Polls close Tuesday at 8 p.m.
—At 8:05 p.m., Orange County's Registrar of Voters will release the First Election Night UNOFFICIAL results.
— At 9 p.m., the first unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 9:30 p.m., the second unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 10 p.m., the third unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 10:30 p.m., the fourth unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 11 p.m., the fifth unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 11:30 p.m., the sixth unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 12 a.m., Wednesday, the seventh unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
—At 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, the eighth unofficial results will be released from in-person voting.
— At 5 a.m., Wednesday, the first election results update will be released, following Election Day.

Updates will continue each weekday by 5 p.m. during the canvass period until the last official votes are posted.

Depending on voter turnout, voter assistance centers ballot counts could continue until 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
