SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Rodeo in south Orange County is a long tradition, and with the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo coming soon, there is no time like the present to put on your cowboy boots and enjoy all that San Juan Capistrano has to offer. With the theme for 2018: Wild Horses, Wilder Cowboys, get into the cowboy spirit locally with some great eats and boot stomping dancing. There is something for everyone in South Orange County.

Rusty Richards of the famed Sons of the Pioneers, together with his son Jason, will play live in the show "Honoring the Horse." Enjoy timeless classic country songs, cowboy poetry, stories of the west and western music in this ticketed show. $30 per seat, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
As for the rodeo, join Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo on Saturday, Aug. 25 and Sunday Aug. 26. General admission is $30 for adults, $10 for kids 4-12-years-old, and kids 3 and under are free.

After the rodeo, remember tojoin the San Juan Capistrano Historical Society at the Annual Heritage BBQ.
Heritage Barbecue, an annual event, is the San Juan Capistrano Historical Society’s biggest fundraiser and another wonderful opportunity to enjoy the grounds. This year’s menu will include a choice of BBQ chicken or sliced tri tip, BBQ beans, vegetables, cornbread, and dessert, which will be fresh baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. A soft drink or water is also included, and beer, wine, and margaritas will be available for purchase at $5 each. The cost per ticket is $50 per person.
