2nd-Graders Access Porn On School iPads: Report

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District on Friday removed iPads from its K-4 classrooms, according to a local news report.

SONOMA, CA — Sonoma Valley Unified School District pulled iPads Friday from its K-4 classrooms after a parent learned her 8-year-old daughter was among second-grade students who accessed pornography through the devices, according to a local news report.

The mother was attending a parent-teacher conference at Prestwood Elementary School Thursday when she learned her daughter and a handful of other students had inadvertently accessed porn through YouTube, Sonoma Index-Tribune reported.

"Initial searches for the word 'kissing' prompted suggestions of other YouTube videos which eventually led to sexually explicit content. ... By this week, it turned out, students had viewed what [the parent] described as 'hard-core porn,' through YouTube," the newspaper reported.
