
Wells Fargo Foundation announced today a $5,000 grant to the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation to help fund the general operations of the foundation. In Sonoma, the firm’s grant will help the Education Foundation continue to support local schools.

The grant is one of nearly three hundred basic needs grants being made throughout the U.S. by Wells Fargo Advisors as part of the firm’s Investing in Our Communities initiative.

The has raised nearly 4 million dollars over the past 18 years, including $1.3 million for Sonoma Valley High School, $716,000 for technology enhancements throughout the school district, $533,000 for advanced computer skills training for teachers and $430,000 for reading, writing and literacy programs district-wide. Currently the foundation funds Science, Art, School Gardens and the Teacher Support Network.
