Brush Fire Prompts Evacuations In Sonoma
The fire broke out near the Sonoma Overlook Trail.

SONOMA, CA — Several Sonoma residents were evacuated Wednesday because of a vegetation fire burning in the city.
The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. near 145 1st Street West and West Spain Street, near the Sonoma Overlook Trail and Montini Open Space Preserve.
Sonoma County sheriff's deputies conducted limited evacuations by knocking on the doors of homes.

Several residents on Norrbom Road were evacuated as a precaution and it appeared firefighters were getting the fire under control, the Sonoma Police Department said in a Nixle alert issued at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday.
"Please avoid the area of 1st Street West and W. Spain Street to allow emergency personnel through so they can continue with fire suppression efforts," Sonoma police said.
