Cement Truck Hits Power Pole On Porter Creek, Blocking Road: CHP

The crash Friday left the entire roadway blocked at Petrified Forest Road and Calistoga Road, according to CHP reports.

NORTH BAY, CA — A cement truck collided with a power pole and a fence Friday on Porter Creek Road, leaving the roadway blocked at Calistoga Road / Petrified Forest Road and the Napa-Sonoma county line, according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers.

The crash was reported at about 9:40 a.m. and left power lines down "all over the roadway," CHP traffic logs indicated.

As of 5:30 p.m. Friday, Porter Creek Road remained closed in both directions at Calistoga Road / Petrified Forest Road. There was no one-way traffic control in effect, CHP noted.

PG&E was on scene to repair the damage and install a new power pole, according to CHP.

It was not yet known when the roadway might be reopened to traffic; Napa County Public Works advised it would remain closed through Friday evening.

Public works crews reportedly put up electronic message boards about the road closure in both Napa and Sonoma counties.
