Dog Jumps Into Santa Rosa Police Car; Police Seek Its Owners

The Pit Bull was reported running loose; when an officer found him he jumped into the patrol car, happy to be found, police said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Do you know this dog? The gray male Pit Bull with no collar was reported running loose Thursday in the area of Hardies Lane and Russell Avenue, which is off Piner Road, Santa Rosa police said.

When an officer found the dog, the Pit Bull "jumped into the patrol car and he was happy to be found," police said.

The dog's joyride was short-lived, as the officer took him to PetCare Veterinary Hospital at 2425 Mendocino Ave. in Santa Rosa.

The Pit Bull remains in the care of the veterinary clinic and police are hoping his owners come forward to claim him.

"If you know the owner, or if this is your dog, please come and get him!" police said.
