Elderly Man Reported Missing In Sonoma Valley Found Safe
John Volgel, 91, of Sonoma, who went missing Monday morning, was found safe later that day near Colfax in Placer County, authorities said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — John Volgel, 91, of Sonoma, who went missing Monday morning, was found safe later that day near Colfax in Placer County, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Someone reported a reckless driver off Interstate Highway 80 in the Gold Run area of Placer County to the California Highway Patrol, and Volgel was pulled over, sheriff's spokeswoman Misti Wood said.
The CHP officer was aware Volgel was reported missing, Wood said. Volgel left the Sonoma area in a Subaru Outback around 8 a.m. Monday.
