LOOK: Hazardous smoke conditions persist in Napa, Sonoma Counties

Smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte county continue to persist in the north San Francisco Bay areas of Napa and Sonoma counties on Friday.

SONOMA AND NAPA COUNTIES -- Smoke from the destructive Camp Fire in Butte county continue to persist in the San Francisco North Bay areas of Napa and Sonoma counties Friday.

Santa Rosa residents had a mixture of white ash and frost on their vehicles Friday morning. Schools were closed in the Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park area due to the smoke conditions, including Santa Rosa Junior College campus and the Petaluma campus. Also, Sonoma State University classes were canceled due to the smoke. High school sporting events were rescheduled due to the thick smoke.

Employees at a Rohnert Park office complex were complaining about the smell of smoke and eye irritation inside of an air conditioned office on Wednesday.

Also, the recommended mask to filter the harmful effects of the smoke were out of supply at a large home improvement store in the City of Sonoma.

The Napa County Airport was busy with luxury aircraft arriving and leaving in the smoke filled atmosphere, even as a blanket of smoke Camp Fire smoke covered the airport.
