Man Delivering Newspapers Dies When Run Over By His Car

Authorities have identified the man who died early Saturday morning in the incident in the Oakmont area of Santa Rosa.

SANTA ROSA, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a man who died when he was run over by his vehicle while delivering newspapers in the Oakmont area of Santa Rosa on Saturday morning as Gerald Harvey, 69, of Sebastopol.

Santa Rosa police responded around 6:45 a.m. to Aspen Meadows Circle, where they found Harvey deceased underneath a vehicle.

Harvey was getting out of the driver's seat while the car was in reverse and he was pulled underneath the vehicle, according to police.

Harvey was delivering The Press Democrat newspapers at the time, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Marcus Sprague said.
