Man Killed In Lakeville Highway Crash Is Identified

The coroner identifies the man who died in a June crash south of Petaluma.

PETALUMA - The Sonoma County Sheriff Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed June 29 in a big rig crash on Lakeville Highway south of Petaluma.

The coroner’s office says the driver who died in the commercial truck collision that Wednesday afternoon near Old Lakeville Road #2, has been identified as 31-year-old Melvin Leiva, a Los Angeles resident.

His family was located and informed of his death.

According to authorities, the coroner’s office has directed a forensic pathologist to conduct an examination to determine the cause of death.

The California Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the vehicle collision.

The CHP says any information you might have that would aid their investigation regarding the crash should be directed to that agency.
