Northern California Wildfires: Social Media Pages Set Up To Help Fire Victims Find Lost Pets
BREAKING: Anyone who has found an animal can post information about it.

NORTH BAY AREA, CA — Social media pages have been set up to help victims of the North Bay wildfires connect to their lost pets, according to Sonoma County Animal Services. Anyone who has lost a pet can share information about it on the social media pages by including the pet's photo, the type of animal and its last known location. Anyone who posts is also asked to provide contact information.
Anyone who has found an animal can post information about it by including a picture, a description of the animal and its location. Posters are reminded to include contact information, county officials said.

In Marin County, the Marin Humane Society is the designated lead agency coordinating animal-related disaster response for the county. The agency is offering free boarding for pets of fire evacuees.

All domestic pets, including reptiles, fowl, and some barnyard animals can be brought to the shelter at 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd. in Novato. The shelter's contact number is (415) 883-4621. Pet owners are encouraged to bring any veterinary records or pet medications when dropping off an animal, agency officials said.
