SOMO Concerts Presents Diamond Rio with Special Guests Joe Diffie and McKenna Faith

Sunday, November15 at the SOMO Event Center

Bay Productions is pleased to announce their inaugural Putting Out The Fire Concert, benefitting the Bodega Bay Fire Protection District and the Victims of the recent Valley Fire. Diamond Rio and special guests Joe Diffie and McKenna Faith will perform on Sunday, November 15th at the SOMO Event Center. Gates will open at 1:00 P.M. with the show starting at 2:00 P.M. Tickets are $52.50 for general admission and $72.50 for reserved. Pre-sale ticket purchasers have an extra kick – there are three prize drawings for pre-sale ticket purchasers, donated by local Bodega Bay merchants. There is golf for 2 with cart and lunch donated by the Links at Bodega Bay and the Blue Water Bistro, a fishing charter for two on the New Sea Angler donated by Rick Powers of Bodega Bay Sport Fishing, and an overnight stay at the Inn at the Tides with dinner for two at the Tides restaurant. General sale tickets go on sale on Friday, September 25th at 9:00 A.M. Both general and pre-sale tickets, along with more information, can be found online at www.somoconcerts.com.

Bodega Bay, known for Alfred Hitchcock’s film “The Birds”, is a destination for thousands of visitors. Drawn to the area by beautiful beaches and vistas, restaurants and shops, on any given day this tiny town of approximately 950 population can grow to up to 11,000, and with that comes all the demands of a much larger town – including emergency services. With the area’s only fully staffed paramedic fire station, the Bodega Bay Fire Protection District services are in constant demand for rescue, fire, and medical services, but these services are in serious jeopardy due to lack of funding.

Despite the dire need for funds for Bodega Bay, in light of the recent devastation caused by the Valley Fire in Sonoma, Lake, and Napa Counties, show promoters Ron and Carolyn Kirk, along with Bodega Bay Fire Chief, Sean Grinnell, have decided to share the proceeds from this concert with the victims of that fire. These people have lost everything, and to quote Chief Grinnell “they need it more than us”. It would be wrong for us to ask the outside community to support us (Bodega Bay) if we were not willing to support them in this most critical time of need.
