A 21-year-old woman and her 44-year-old mother died at the scene of a crash Monday on state Highway 12 near Oakmont, the California Highway
SONOMA VALLEY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office identified a mother and daughter killed in one of two fatal crashes Monday morning on state Highway 12 as Sonoma residents Alondra Brandt Valero, 21, and Tomasa Valero Vargas, 44.
Californa Highway Patrol officers were sent at 8:20 a.m. to the crash east of Oakmont Drive, where they found two involved vehicles: a Nissan Sentra and a Chevrolet truck, CHP Officer David deRutte said in a news release.
CHP's initial investigation indicated the Nissan driver, later identified as Alondra Valero Brandt, was traveling westbound on SR-12 while the Chevrolet was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway when Brandt lost control on a curve and crossed into the opposite lane.
