As Sonoma Searches For Superintendent, 2 School Leaders Resign

The director of human resources, as well as, the director of student services both announced their resignations.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA -- Sonoma Valley Unified School District will lose two directors as they recently announced their resignations. The announcement came as the district works to fill its superintendent seat.

Sonoma Index-Tribune reported Loyal Carlon, director of human resources, and Nikarre Redcoff, director of student services, both told officials they will resign after years with the school district.

Carlon, who has worked for the district since 2010, said that his “only motivation for having stayed this long was believing that what I did made your jobs a little easier," the Index-Tribune reported.

While Redcoff, who has led the department for four years, said she believes in "this district and the direction in which it is going"

The Index-Tribune said the resignations come as the school district works to find a new superintendent. So far, 33 people have applied for the top position.
