Sonoma Student Accused In Snapchat School Shooting Threat: Cops
A Sonoma Valley High school student is accused of sending a message through Snapchat saying a shooting would happen at the school.
SONOMA, CA — A Sonoma Valley High School student was arrested Wednesday for allegedly making threats about a school shooting using the messaging app Snapchat.
The student has been arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and false reporting of an emergency, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
At 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, school staff began receiving information from concerned students and parents about a planned school shooting that was going to occur on Friday.

Deputies said the threat was made in a Snapchat post that was distributed to a few students who then brought it to the attention of school staff. Staff at the high school reported the incident to an on-site school resource deputy who began investigating.
The suspect was identified as a student at the school, and the student was located and taken into custody.
