Sonoma Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Sonoma Valley is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Sonoma Valley Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/7 - 8/8: Staff Development
• 8/9 - 8/10: Teacher Work Days
• 8/11: Pupil Planning Day
• 8/14: First Day, Early Release
• 8/15: Early Release
• 8/16: Early Release

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/16 - 10/20: K-8 Parent Conferences
• 8/30: No School for Students (Staff Development)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/20 - 12/22: Grades 9-12 Minimum Day, Finals
• 12/22: Minimum Day
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/26: No School for Students (Staff Development)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March
