The Little School is the Place for Kids

Earlier this week we asked you where the best place to send your children for . You guided us through the typically fraught decision (don't we all want our little ones to go to the very best place) towards The Little School.

is a nursery school for children aged 2-6, located across the street from Sonoma Valley High School on Broadway. The school provides a "home away from home" for children to retain their enthusiasm for learning with a Montessori-based education including art, music, and gross motor movement. The school provides a separate ballet class, and extended after-school care.

Founded as a home-daycare center by director Sonja Rasmussen, the Little School moved to its permanent residence in 2000. Rasmussen moved to Sonoma in the 1980s because the safe, child-friendly environment meshed with her dream to start a nursery school.
