Wednesday Night Drags Back At Sonoma Raceway

SONOMA - Sonoma Raceway's popular Wednesday Night Drags resumes tonight between 4 and 10 p.m., Raceway officials said.

Wednesday Night Drags on the quarter-mile drag strip at the Raceway has drawn licensed high school students and professionals with a need to race in a safe, legal and controlled environment for nearly 30 years.

As many as 200 drag racers are expected to attend the opening night of racing at Sonoma Raceway located at 29355 Arnold Drive.

Sonoma Drift, a driving competition judged on speed, angle, showmanship and line taken through a set course with no influence on finishing first, also begins Wednesday night behind the main grandstand.

Forty drifters are expected to participate, Sonoma Raceway officials said.
