Worker for a Sonoma Construction Company Dies at New Home Site in San Francisco
OSHA is investigating Wednesday's accident.

A construction worker believed to have been working for a Sonoma company died Wednesday after falling at a home being built in San Francisco, a fire department spokeswoman said.
The name of the man and his cause of death hadn't been released as of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, because family hadn't yet been notified, San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office staff told Patch.
The construction company listed on the city building permit at the home on Edgehill Way is Versaggi Construction. No one from the company was available to comment on the incident, when contacted by Sonoma Valley Patch or Bay City News Service.

The man is believed to have been about 50 years old. His crew members found him lying on concrete where he had been working on scaffolding near an unfinished stairwell of a three-story home, San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge told Patch. Fire paramedics estimated his fall at 12 to 35 feet, depending on which level of the scaffolding he was on.
The fall was reported at 10:37 a.m. The worker was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Talmadge did not report information about his injuries or what caused his death.

Shortly after noon, no workers remained at the site, which was fenced off in the hilly neighborhood west of Twin Peaks.
