Classes To Begin In September For Parents Of Teens

If you have teenagers, the series could be useful, particularly if your child is strong-willed or making poor choices.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – The Fairfield Police Department is hosting a series of Parent Project Sr. classes for parents or guardians of strong-willed teenagers starting Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sullivan Inter-Agency Youth Services Center in Fairfield.

The Parent Project Sr. class will be held each Wednesday for nine weeks and teaches a step-by-step action plan and effective intervention techniques that allows parents to take immediate steps to strongly influence their child's negative choices.

"Parents will gain tools and support to understand and communicate more effectively with their child, provide structure and active supervision, identify and intervene with drug/alcohol use, and improve school attendance." the agency said. "Parents will also learn how to identify whether their child is involved in gang activity and other destructive behavior."
