DUI Suspected In Deadly I-80 Crash In Fairfield: CHP
A 20-year-old Suisun City man is suspected of being impaired in a collision with a big rig, according to the California Highway Patrol.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A 20-year-old Richmond man died when the Honda Civic he was riding in collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer on Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 20-year-old Suisun City man was driving the Honda on eastbound Highway 80 west of Air Base Parkway around 12:30 a.m. when he struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, crossed all lanes of the highway and hit the center median, CHP Officer David Harvey said.
The Honda driver was driving at a high rate of speed and impairment is suspected as a factor in the collision, Harvey said. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital, and has not yet been arrested.

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured, and the identity of the passenger who died is not being released pending notification of his family.
