Fairfield Crime Sting: 71 Arrests, 9 Illegally Possessed Guns

A just-concluded week-long multi-agency enforcement operation in Fairfield resulted in 71 arrests and 9 illegally possessed guns.

FAIRFIELD - A just-concluded week-long multi-agency enforcement operation in Fairfield resulted in 71 arrests and 9 illegally possessed guns, according to Fairfield police.

According to Fairfield authorities, the mission of the week long operation conducted between June 12 - June 18 was to target gang members and wanted fugitives; to conduct probation, parole, and Post Release Community Supervision searches; and conduct maximum enforcement in the high crime areas within the city.

  • On June 12, 2016 at about 5:55 pm, detectives working the multi-agency operation observed a vehicle driving out of San Marco Street shortly after a reported shooting. The vehicle went into an apartment complex in the 300 block of East Tabor Avenue where five juvenile suspects ran away from the car. The car was checked and 3 loaded hand guns were located inside (one revolver and two semi-automatic handguns.) Four of the five juveniles were captured during a search of the apartment complex. All four were arrested and booked into the Solano County Juvenile Hall Facility on weapons related charges.
  • On June 14, 2016 at about 2:26 pm, a stabbing occurred on the linear park pathway near Second Street. Officers and detectives assigned to the multi-agency operation were immediately on scene and were able to locate a 17 year old Fairfield juvenile hiding during a yard to yard search of the 1400 block of Michigan Street. That juvenile was booked into the Solano County Juvenile Hall Facility on attempted murder charges along with resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.
  • On June 16, 2016 the multi-agency operation teams were devoted to conducting parole, probation, and PRCS searches. During that day 55 locations were searched resulting in the arrest of 14 subjects. Located during the searches was a shotgun and an AK style assault rifle.

During this operation authorities say the Fairfield Police Department’s Special Operations Team partnered with the FBI’s Violent Gang Safe Streets Task Force, Solano County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), Vacaville Police Department’s VICE Team, Vallejo Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team, the Suisun Police Department, California State Prison-Solano Investigative Services Unit, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Parole, Solano County Probation, the California Highway Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security.


Police say the multi-agency operation also resulted in numerous misdemeanor citations issued to individuals for traffic and criminal offenses.
