Fatal Crash Blocks Highway 12 in Fairfield
A Suisun City man has been identified as the driver who died in the crash.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A Suisun City man killed in a multi-vehicle, rear-end collision Wednesday on state Highway 12 in Fairfield has been identified by the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner's Office as Sun-Shawn Hill, 21 years old.
The chain-reaction crash was reported at about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday on eastbound SR-12 just west of Beck Avenue. The California Highway Patrol said Hill was driving a Volkswagen Passat and was one of four cars stopped at a red light in the No. 1 lane of SR-12 when a white Mercedes Benz van struck the back of a Volkswagen Passat.
The Volkswagen struck the rear of a gray Honda sedan, which hit a BMW sedan, which struck the back of an Audi sedan, CHP Officer David Harvey said.

Hill was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The van driver was taken to a hospital and the solo occupants of the three other cars suffered minor injuries, Harvey said.

The incident blocked all eastbound lanes, prompting the CHP to issue a Sig-alert at 3:42 p.m. The on-ramp at Beck Avenue was also closed and cars were diverted off the highway by way of Chadbourne Road.
