Fire Damages Fairfield Home, Displaces 2 Residents, Their Pets
The blaze in the 2400 block of Marquette Way was visible from state Highway 12.
FAIRFIELD, CA — A 1-alarm fire at a home in Fairfield displaced two residents and two dogs, causing moderate damage to the structure late Monday night, according to Fairfield Fire Department officials.
The blaze was first reported at about 11 p.m. at the home in the 2400 block of Marquette Way, Battalion Chief Andy Cranston said, and was visible from state Highway 12.
Cranston said the blaze started in a side yard between two homes and partially damaged the exterior. The interior was also damaged from fire operations, but the blaze was kept from penetrating inside the home. He estimated damage at $100,000.

The blaze was under control at 11:24 p.m. and the American Red Cross was dispatched to assist the residents displaced.
According to Cranston, the cause will be ruled accidental, and said it likely came from an improperly discarded cigarette. None of the residents or fire crews suffered injuries.
