Hazmat Incident Closes Madison Street In Fairfield: Police
The Solano County Hazardous Materials Response Team is working to identify the liquid and assure its proper disposal, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — The Fairfield Police Department says Madison Street has reopened between Texas and Missouri streets. The street was closed late Monday afternoon for a hazardous materials incident involving the apparent dumping of three barrels of an unidentified liquid behind a business.
The Solano County Hazardous Materials Response Team investigated and believes the substance is formaldehyde and said it poses no danger to the public.
A contractor is enroute to clean up the barrels, police said.
