House Fire Leaves Fairfield Resident Injured

The person suffered minor injuries, but the home was seriously damaged.

FAIRFIELD, CA — One person suffered minor injuries in a fire in Fairfield that caused serious damages to the second floor of a house, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called at 4:29 p.m. Saturday to the 5000 block of Vestry Court, in a residential subdivision a quarter-mile north of the junction of Interstate Highways 80 and 680 (Cordelia Junction).

Fairfield Fire Battalion Chief Larry Palmer said 16 firefighters took about a half hour to put out the fire, which did not spread past the second story of the house.

One resident of the house suffered a minor injury, but did not go to the hospital, Palmer said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday evening.
