Illegal Gambling Computers Seized: Fairfield, Vallejo 'Internet Cafes' Closed

Two alleged gambling establishments in Fairfield and Vallejo, disguised as internet cafes, were shut down Tuesday.

FAIRFIELD - Two alleged gambling establishments in Fairfield and Vallejo, disguised as internet cafes, were shut down Tuesday by a joint team made up of local police and state gaming control investigators, according to Fairfield police.

Police say 20 illegal gambling computers were seized on Tuesday, July 12 at Talk N Win in Fairfield, an internet cafe that actually uses sweepstakes gambling software to "create interactive gambling-themed games that the company represents as lawful promotional sweepstakes for play, but constitutes illegal gambling under state law."

The business was shut down by authorities.

On the same day, investigators from the California Department of Justice's Bureau of Gaming Control also closed down LM Connexions, another alleged illegal sweepstakes cafe gambling establishment operating in Vallejo.

The Bureau says it seized 19 illegal gambling computers in the Vallejo operation.

According to police, Talk N Win was previously shut down on August 26, 2015.

In late June, the Fairfield Police Department says it learned that Talk N Win had re-opened in the same location and was conducting the same illegal gambling operation.
