Join the Family 5K Fun Run/Walk for Domestic Violence Prevention

The public is invited dress as a favorite superhero and participate in the 2nd Annual National Pan Hellenic Council Solano Fall into Fitness Family 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, October 20 at Solano Community College, 4000 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The race begins at 9 a.m. Participants can register online at https://goo.gl/EBZh22 or on Facebook at Solano County NPHC 5K Family Fun Run/Walk. Registration as a virtual participant is also available.

The 5K (3.1 mile) course takes participants around the beautiful Solano Community College campus and will be professionally, chipped timed. Finisher's medal is guaranteed for the first 100 runners/walkers to cross the finish line. The event is an opportunity for everyone to get out and move, network, have fun, and socialize with other Solano County and Bay Area community residents. The race will be held rain or shine.

The Fun Run/Walk a family-friendly event for everyone from first-time runners/walkers to expert athletes. After the race participants are invited to stay and enjoy a celebration of community togetherness. Donations of personal hygiene and household cleaning items will be accepted at the event and will benefit a deserving organization in Solano County helping victims of Domestic Violence.

"This is the second year that we’re presenting the Fun Run/Walk and we’re excited to focus on an issue that impacts untold victims in our community,” said chairperson and NHPC President Dr. Aleisha Dobbins. “The event is an excellent opportunity to share information about programs and services available to families in the area while also providing an opportunity for individuals, families, businesses and organizations to work on reaching their health and wellness goals.”
