
Suisun: The public is invited to learn to produce, film and edit their own films at the state-of-the-art studios at the Vallejo Community Access Television (VCAT) Station in March.
The studio is now accepting applications for training classes on Saturdays, March 3rd, 10th and 17th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 at 1800 Ascot Parkway, Room H100 in Vallejo.
Students will learn the basics of hand-held camera operation, lighting and set-up of a professional sound stage, in-studio camera operation, audio mixing boards, video recording, and film editing

After the classes, students are expected to volunteer 20 hours at the studio working on other shows before being cleared to use the equipment at no charge on their own programs.
Cost of the classes is $40 for citizens who work, live, or volunteer in Vallejo and $70 for non-residents.

VCAT is a non-profit public access channel licensed under the FCC to provide shows of local interest and to provide an outlet for freedom of expression for the community.
VCAT is the only public access channel in Solano County with the only other closest studios being Davis and San Francisco.
