New Fairfield Police Program: 'How To Never Argue With Your Child Again'
Fairfield police introduce a new parenting program targeted for parents of younger children.

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police will offer behavioral advice for parents who have children between five and 12 years old during a new series of classes beginning in August.
For more than 20 years, the Fairfield Police Department Crime Prevention Unit has helped parents of teenagers through its Parent Project classes, but police say resources for parents of younger children have been scarce.
Now, the Parent Project Jr. - Loving Solutions classes will target that younger age.

Parent Project Jr. - Loving Solutions (For parents with kids ages 5-12 years old)
For those of us struggling to raise young children in a complicated world, trying to correct their troubling behavior can be a challenge, especially since kids don’t come with a manual. Uncorrected troubling behavior when children are young often leads to more serious, habitual trouble when they grow into their teens that are even more difficult to correct.
The Fairfield Police Department Crime Prevention Unit has helped parents of teenagers for over twenty years through its Parent Project classes, but resources for parents of younger children have been scarce. In an effort to help parents of children ages 5-12 years old, the Fairfield Police Department is providing a new resource, Parent Project Jr. – Loving Solutions ®.
Parent Project Jr. - Loving Solutions is a parent-training program designed specifically for parents of younger children, ages 5-12 years old. The program utilizes the same principles found in the successful Parent Project ® Sr. class, adapted to the needs of younger children. The Parent Project Jr. – Loving Solutions class is a nine week series of classes that meets once a week. The classes teach a step-by-step action plan and effective intervention techniques that allow parents to take immediate steps to strongly influence their child's negative choices.
Parents will learn:
-How to never argue with your child again
-Stop unwanted behaviors
-Answers for parents of children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD
The Fairfield Police Department will host the next Parent Project Jr. – Loving Solutions Class for parents, guardians, and caretakers of children ages 5-10 years old beginning Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sullivan Inter-Agency Youth Services Center in Fairfield (2195 Union Ave, Fairfield, CA 94533.) The classes will end on October 5, 2016.
Parent Project Jr. – Loving Solutions instructors are specially trained members of the Fairfield Police Department, as well as non-law enforcement professionals. There is a one-time fee of $25 for the parent workbook, which is due at the time of registration.
The Fairfield Police Department is also pleased to announce that, as part of our continued partnership with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, the District will be providing free childcare on site for parents participating in the Parent Project – Loving Solutions Classes. Childcare is limited to toilet-trained kids between the ages of 4-12 years.
