The Solano paranormal society takes you on a trip into the netherworld on their ghost walk tour in old Suisun.

Most people shiver in fright when confronted with the macabre. Those, with a scientific curiosity for the ghastly, actually volunteer to spend the night in haunted houses, chase ghosts, and contact the dead. Tabloid journalism refers to these types as ghost busters, but the preferred politically correct term is “paranormal investigator“. For more than a century paranormal societies have sought to document ghostly occurrence and legitimize their authenticity.
The Solano paranormal society was founded in 2013 by lifelong paranormal enthusiast Melissa Rashid. Their mission? To investigate alleged supernatural claims in homes, businesses and other locations. The other three members rounding out the investigative team include the husband and wife duo, Scott & Beth Campbell, and ordained priest David Deerfeeder.
The group gives tours in old Suisun that cater to non- believers as well as those who swear they’ve been haunted by things that go bump in the night. The tour takes its participants to landmark buildings like the Suisun Masonic lodge #55 at 623 Main St., and the Wednesday club at 255 Sacramento St.

Both locations are notorious for heavy activity on the psychic divining rods and k-2 electromagnetic field readers used by tour participants. Divining rods are the stone age technology of specter hunting, while the k-2’s have become pervasive in the spirit wrangling business, due to their popularity from such television shows as Ghost Hunters.
On any given night that the tour is in operation you’ll see utterly confused and happily embarrassed participants trying to make sense of the meter while others are waving around the divining rods, trying to pick up reception like an antenna on a 1950’s t.v. set.

The subject of the after life has an eternal appeal that transcends time and culture. Supernatural people, places, and things lie in every corner of the USA. There is an abundance of haunted nouns littered throughout the United States. From something as small as a demonic toaster to something as large as a bridge, haunted by past victims of suicide. Ghosts don’t discriminate. Cemeteries, mental hospitals, battleships, airplanes, hotels. Anything up to and including the kitchen sink could be haunted.
The society wants to take the fear out of the paranormal and let everyone know that ghosts are people too. They were once had a body, and lived, and loved. Investigators hypothesize that because of these human emotions, spirits usually return to (or never leave) places that had meaning to them while they were alive.
The two-hour interactive tour was created with history buffs, fans of the paranormal ,and chill seekers in mind, as the supernatural history of this once notoriously rough and tumble waterfront town comes to life.
The price of the walk is $20.00 and starts at 8 o’clock p.m.. Each ghost walk is limited to 20 people. Pre-registration and payment is required.
