Shooting at Fairfield Park Leads to School Lockdowns This Morning, Gunshot Victim at Hospital
Fairfield Police Department are investigating a report of someone shooting a gun at Laurel Creek Park Friday morning.

FAIRFIELD, CA- Fairfield Police Department are investigating a report of someone shooting a gun at Laurel Creek Park Friday morning around 9:30 a.m., after witnesses saw two suspects near the bike path. Minutes later, a person who had been shot arrived at the local hospital for care.
Due to the proximity of the park to a local elementary school, and to keep students and staff safe, officers immediately requested the school be placed on lockdown.
According to a release by FPD, several witnesses reported seeing people flee the area at the time of the shooting, including two people that ran south on the bike path along Laurel Creek.

Officers report that they set up a perimeter and searched for the possible suspects with the assistance of the Solano County Sheriff’s Department and a California Highway Patrol Aircraft, and quickly stopped a green mustang in the area of East Tabor and Grande Circle that was believed to have been in the area of the shooting.
The occupants of that car are being interviewed to determine their involvement in the shooting.

Minutes after receiving the shooting call, a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital. That victim is being treated and is in critical condition.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau responded to the hospital and determined the victim was connected to this incident.
This is considered an active investigation and no further information is available at this time. Detectives are looking into the motive for this crime. Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to call the Fairfield Police Investigations Division at (707) 428-7600.
