SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A Fairfield-Suisun man accused of trying to run down police officers with his car earlier this month has been arrested in Nebraska, police said Monday. Robert Hanson, 47, was stopped on Nov. 1 by Fairfield police, but fled and tried to run the officers over, prompting one to open fire, according to police.

Hanson's Jaguar was found later that night and police obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges including assault with a vehicle on an officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, manufacturing a controlled substance and fleeing in a vehicle.

Police learned he may have fled out of state, and on Nov. 18, the Nebraska State Patrol spotted him as a passenger in a car near Nebraska City. Police arrested him on the warrant, and on suspicion of new crimes including weapons possession and controlled substances.
