Solano County, Cities Pass Tax Measures In Tuesday's Election

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – Solano County voters approved a quarter-cent sales tax, one of 15 measures that voters considered around the county on Tuesday's ballot.
Measure A will raise an estimated $16.8 million annually for 10 years for general government purposes. It passed by a 55 percent to 45 percent margin, according to complete unofficial election results.
Measure B, a non-binding advisory measure, asked voters whether the county should be encouraged to allocate all of Measure A's revenue to children's programs. It passed with 58 percent approval.

Local taxpayer groups opposed both measures, noting that Measure B has no legal authority to require the money goes to those programs.
Vacaville's Measure M, Rio Vista's Measure O, Fairfield's Measure P, Suisun City's Measure S and Vallejo's Measure V were all seeking sales or general tax revenue for essential city services and voters in those cities
all passed the measures.
